50th Anniversary of the First Human Spaceflight

Ok - so if anybody checks out Google today, the icon is for the 50th anniversary of the first human space flight (Yuri Gagarin 1961). During the historic 108-minute flight of his Vostok 1 spacecraft, Gagarin passed east over the Soviet Union and the Pacific, skimmed over the Straits of Magellan before crossing the Atlantic, Africa and the Middle East.

Here is the first description of Earth from outer space:
"I can see clouds. I can see everything. It's beautiful" - Yuri Gagarin

As an avid fan of space travel (I was one of those kids that wanted to be an astronaut when I grew up), I commend all of the international space programs that are exploring "the final frontier".
